PLAYA GRANDE

Designed for an isolated beach community on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, this vacation house for a well known family was designed using all local materials. Even large rocks found on-site are used as structural and sculptural pieces within the buildings. The masses of the house have been broken into separate buildings to reduce the bulk of its appearance. Taking advantage of the mild climate, the buildings are designed with a sense of immersion and connection to the natural beauty of the site.
