at RAAD Studio, science fiction meets craft to create the spaces in your dreams
Since 2004, RAAD Studio has been a future-focused design practice that unites architects, artists, designers, inventors, engineers, and craftspeople. The breadth of our work includes the design of homes and interiors, art installations, and the rethinking of our cities in the face of the climate crisis — which includes such projects as the Lowline in New York City.
RAAD's award-winning approach combines sweeping and ambitious design gestures, clever and playful touches, and proprietary green technology. We continue to innovate and experiment, while building upon 20 years of discipline and expertise. Twenty years of experience and connections have fostered a community of professionals and artisans who bring projects to life. Together, we locate elegant solutions to design challenges that streamline the construction process.
We also focus on light. Our designs consider how sunlight moves through days and through spaces; how to balance scene-stealing lighting installations with subtle sparks of warmth and drama; and how to leverage our NASA-inspired technology to introduce sunlight into unexpected spaces.
RAAD Studio’s awards include the AIA 2015 Design Awards, the 2015 + 2016 Architizer A+ Awards, a career achievement award from the Green Building Congress in Bogota, and a commendation from the South Korean government. Our work has been covered in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Metropolis, Monocle, and New York magazine.
