The domes of the old Police Building headquarters are an iconic feature of SOHO’s skyline. Inside: spaces that are even more spectacular.

RAAD’s approach to the project was to showcase the original terra-cotta structure of the dome. RAAD’s work here, cited in media as “New York’s most awesome bedroom,” made sure every design move was informed by the sheer wonder of inhabiting a century-old room crafted in pottery.

Functionality was seamlessly tucked away to avoid distracting from the historic shell. Hidden inside extensive peripheral millwork is a network of tunnels and “rooms” - for the owner’s cat, Riyad.
