SOHO PENTHOUSE

Using a raw rooftop above a loft in Soho, in NYC, RAAD created what is in effect a glassy, Palm Springs modernist house in the sky. Ultra thin profile glass walls beneath a meticulously detailed steel roof slide away to make the penthouse space an indoor-outdoor space during times of nice weather. A teak-decked lap pool provides an oasis-like respite from the bustling city below in New York’s sweltering summers, while heating elements extend the use of the outdoor spaces well into the fall and spring.
